Biographical Statement:

    Yueqi Zhong joined the Donghua faculty in 2005 on completion of his postdoctoral research in developing a 3D virtual garment CAD system at the University of Texas at Austin. Previous to this he completed his Ph.D degree at Donghua University in 2001, where his research was in the area of physically-based modeling of woven fabric. His research continues to address topics in virtual garment prototyping, online sizing and fit evaluation and in the area of 3D scanning on human body and clothing.

    More specifically, his research and teaching are in the field of modeling virtual garment and virtual human, with a concentration on 3D visualization, sizing/fit evaluation, and the development of portable full body 3D scanner in the apparel industry. Issues in modeling and simulation, use of 3D scans for virtual fit avatars, automatic anthropometric measures, mass customization, interactions of materials and design are addressed in his research program. He has been the PI of two Natural Science Foundation of China and the PI of several projects granted at the Level of Province and Department.
