Recently, the Ph.D candidate Hao Jia supervised by Prof. Jiansheng Guo in our college has made significant progress in the research of flexible and transparent textile thermal insulation materials for bionic solar heat collection. This work has been published with the title of “Solar thermal energy harvesting properties of spacer fabric composite used for transparent insulation materials” in journal of Solar Energy Materials & Solar Cells(SOL ENERG MAT SOL C. 2018, 174, 140–145).
The transparent insulation material has wide application prospect in the field of new energy development and energy saving technology. However, the traditional transparent insulation materials mostly are fabricated by non-flexible materials such as glass, which have many problems in terms of flexibility. At present, the research on flexible textile based transparent insulation materials is relatively limited in the world. This paper presents a transparent insulation material based on the spacer fabric and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) film, and further explores the influence of surface poly-pxylene coating. Based on the relevant research and tests, the optimal design of textile based transparent insulation material has obtained. The actual properties of the constructed model is also further verified by practical measurement.
The research has positive significance to the bionic textile-based solar energy heat collection technology and the flexible transparent insulation materials, and is beneficial to extend the application scope of this kind of products and further improve their performance.
